Featuring faves - Volume XFor my tenth feature, I decided that I would leave it up to you guys, to decide the art showcased. I din't really anticipate the result of that decision, but I'll get back to that.
Featured are:
Both suggestions are awesome pieces of art, and I took the opportunity to fave them both! Not because they were suggested, but because they are great works both of them.
Now, to address a far more serious topic. I have just short of 300 watchers. Two decided to promote art, that doesn't belong to themselves. Two. Swell.
I joined dA almost 8 years ago (the first two years under another nick). Back then, dA was all about supporting eachother in our efforts to become better artists. We were also interested in eachothers shoutouts, journals and rants, and we actually responded to them. Imagine that.
I issued a
Journal, encouraging all of you to promote a fellow artist. Not yourself, but someone else. Less than one percent of my watchers found that offer attractive.
To be honest guys; that's simply majestically lame.
If we want dA to be an art COMMUNITY, we have to do better. Every time I place ten comments, I get one in return. But that is at least ten percent, and it's okay with me. But it's not less than one percent.
dA is not all about leaning back and think 'Hey, no wonder they faved my piece, cuz both it and I are awesome!'. It's also about giving back to those who gives. THAT is a community. Otherwise, dA will turn into a GALLERY. Nothing more. And I am sad to say, that I think dA is going down that drain.
Guys...prove me wrong please. I ask all of you, to create a Journal like
the one I did. Urge your watchers to suggest a piece of art, made by someone else but themselves.
And most importantly, spread the word;
